培養細胞培養は37℃にて維持されるのが一般的です。しかし最近は様々な刺激が細胞に影響するということに着目され始めています。ブラスト社はガラスヒーターひいては“熱“を標榜するメーカーですから、温度が成長にどう影響するか調べられるガラスヒーター装置を作ってみました。折しも自粛＆GWはヒマ、、、いや開発にかける時間をいただきましたので自主製作の一環です（春休みの工作かっ）。
ガラスヒーターを3つのエリアに分けて個別に温度制御します。35mmディッシュを載せて、違う温度にて培養できます。
基本的に汎用インキュベータの中で使用することを考えていましたが、天面にもフタ代わりのガラスヒーターと筐体で閉鎖して混合ガスを流せばそのまま培養できます（“どこでも培養“ってフレーズに出来るかな）。
とある昔、癌の高体温療法に向けたハイパーサーミアシステムを研究開発していました。その基礎理論は単に熱で癌をやっつけるというだけではなく、ある温度刺激が癌や周辺組織に生理変化をもたらすという現象を追いかけていたものです。熱がスイッチの役目をしていたとでも言いましょうか。
何やらムツカシイことを簡単な装置で取り組めるお手軽さがブラスト製品のコンセプト。ひとまず商品のプレシリーズに加えて新しい研究のお役に立てたいと思います。
